Do you always remember to turn your swag back on after a long nap…Thank Soulja Boy. Memorable lyrics: “ I’ve got two boys and a woman/They’re just gonna suffer now/Lord, forgive me for not goin’ back/But I’ll be there anyhow”Ĭurrently feeling: Blue, I thought Bob Marley was all about smoking the pots and being happy?Ĭhances are you’ve supermanned a hoe…Thank Soulja Boy. This song is really depressing, basically this guy committed a crime and is on the run. It sounds like every single other Bob Marley song pretty much. This is the first edition of “Enter the Itunes”. So hop on and ride the roller coaster that was this playlist with me, re-living every agonizing song and head bobbing along to the bangers. What follows is a running log of my thoughts and feelings while listening to this playlist for the first time, as well as a 1-16 ranking of each song. The result was an…eh…interesting and eclectic mix of songs, sixteen of them total, all unplayed(though not all unknown). I did this all the way down my ITunes and all the way back up. If at any time my mouse landed on a song that had been played before, I also kept scrolling. If my mouse landed on an unplayed song, I added it to a playlist and kept scrolling.

Starting from the top of my ITunes, filtered in alphabetical order by artist, I scrolled down hard. Since last year around this time I’ve made it my mission to ensure every song in my ITunes library has been played at least once. Today, I felt like sharing the fun, but often frustrating process of listening to unplayed songs. I start to feel it’s not right to have music I’ve never listened to. Something about these unplayed songs nags at me. Sometimes I downloaded a whole album and never got to the filler. I’ve either heard the song and never played it all the way through in my ITunes, or only listened to the song on my various IPods and never synced it. Some of them I haven’t listened to, so says my ITunes. An even greater percentage of them I never paid for. I have collected these songs over 10 years, since my first iPod Mini. As of today, I have 10,498 songs in my ITunes library, most of them rap. It lets me shuffle songs when I’m indecisive, and allows me to build playlists in a matter of seconds when I know exactly what I want. It takes all the music I want and it puts it in once place and it never complains when I add a Miley Cyrus song or listen to Gucci Mane all day.
